Includes an eXclusive 1:50 mins High Quality Thearatical Teaser

As the title suggests, LCMD tells a story of Natasha (Rani Mukherjee) a small town Banares girl, who later becomes prostitute due to various circumstances. Though story of small town girl being transformed into call girl has been beaten to death in Bollywood, LCMD claims to show another facet of the life which have never been shown before in the cinema. As Pradeep Sarkar is well known for making good, sensible and decent movie the chances of movie turning into some sex sleaze holio polio – Juile is very less.

Afterall its YRF’s banner !

Despite failures, Yash Raj Films have been trying something different this year straying away from regular romantic movies – Ta Ra Rum Pum (Avg.), Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (Flop), Chak De India (yet to be decided), Aaja Nach Le (in november).

This is Jaya Bachchan‘s first film in three years, her last film being Nikhil Advani’s Kal Ho Naa Ho. She is playing mother of Rani Mukherjee & Kon Kona Sen. Rani is taking up all challenging roles post Yuva, be it blink girl in Black, other women in KANK and now prostitute in Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. She will also be seen in the similar role (a prostitute by name Gulab) in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s – Saawariya.

The movie has been extensively shot in Ganges of Banares, Switzerland, Spain, Bern and Mumbai. As the story progress, the locations too proceed from small town Banares till Mumbai brothels.

The production of the film gathered some controversy as a lightman of the film drowned in the Ganges River and during a shooting session in Varanasi, things got out of hand when bodyguards of Rani Mukerji started beating media persons and fans, chasing them away from the shooting spot of the film.
If the grapevine is to believed then, since Abhi-Aish marraige, there has been problems shooting some of the Abhishek and Rani shots. Sources claim that Aishwarya didn’t want Rani to be invited in the wedding, due to the history between Rani & Abhi. Which created a rift between old times bunti aur bubli.

The movie is slated to be released on 12th October 2007.
