55th Filmfare Awards Preview
Are you ready for the big night !
55th Filmfare awards will take place today 27th Feb, 2010 at Yash Raj Studios. We have got an exclusive sneak-peek from the event which you not find anywhere. First thing, first !
Tonight the stars promise to shine their brightest and make Bollywood’s heart beat the fastest as the best in the business get acknowledged for their contribution. The evening’s program has high voltage performances by the likes of Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan.
SRK and Saif will be back to host this year’s show. Last year Ranbir and Imran had hosted the show, displacing SRK-Saif duo. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was supposed to perform in the function backed out from the show in the last hour. According to the source, she backed out from the performance as she had problem with the article published from the same media group [mumbai mirror] few weeks ago. As per the rumor goes, Bachchan family will all together boycott the function. We will have to wait just few more hours for that.
Kareena and Saif were busy in their rehearsals. Also Katrina seemed bit excited to perform in one of the biggest award show in Bollywood.
Shahid revealed that he will be paying tribute biggest dancing sensation of the world – Late Michael Jackson. He was all geared up talking about his performance. He missed his birthday, last Thursday, for the rehearsals. Shahid will perform in four MJ’s songs in a fifteen minute tribute act.
The Nomination night on Friday was also star-studded night. So many stars descended on the red carpet that it made it impossible for the shutterbugs to even blink. Starting with the hottest diva, Sridevi (who looked stunning in black) to the youngest Genelia D’Souza who fashionably showed enough leg to tantalise; beauty came in different forms. There was the super-talented Konkana SenSharma and Asin, the slender Urmila Matondkar, beautiful Kalki Koechlin and Dia Mirza who lent glamor to the proceedings.
But it wasn’t just a night of beauty. Bollywood’s most powerful directors Rajkumar Hirani, Anurag Kashyap and Imtiaz Ali also made a night of it. In fact, when Imtiaz Ali walked the ramp for Bollywood’s hottest and most desirable designer Manish Malhotra, he got a deafening round of applause.
Some super-hot men were around too. Cricketers Jonty Rhodes and Zaheer Khan rubbed shoulders with the current crazes Arshad Warsi, R Madhavan and Kunal Kapoor. Sophie Choudry and Purab Kohli were the emcees for the event and the duo had the Filmfare nominees in splits.
