Rani, Vidya in catfight
Move over the Kareena – Bipasha tiff or the Aishwarya – Rani hate saga, here’s yet another equation in tinsel ville that’s gone awry. Vidya Balan and Rani Mukherjee, who play sisters in their forthcoming film ‘No One Killed Jessica’, are the new cats in Bollywood who can’t see eye to eye.
Our source from the sets tells us that the two actresses never talked or bonded after their scene was complete. “Rani and Vidya have shot most of their scenes together. There were times when they were the only actors on the sets but still they would not sit and chat after the director called cut. Not even the breaks on the sets inspired them to interact with each other or discuss their scenes,” said the source.
We also learnt that the two ladies returned to their vanity vans as soon as their scene was done and preferred to come out only when the next shot was ready. Another source tells us, “Rani had this aura around her of being the senior actress. She has been in the industry for much longer than Vidya and due to her attitude she seems very unapproachable to her co-stars.”
However, in an interview with us a few months ago Vidya had revealed that she and Rani are friends and not rivals as popularly assumed. Vidya had said that she has in fact learnt a lot by just observing Rani do her scenes. The actress also said that Rani often shared expert tips with her.
Now, the only way we can find out the real truth about the matter is during the promotions of ‘No One Killed Jessica’. It will be interesting to see if the two come together to promote their film. Till then it’s just wait and watch …
