Movie Review: Jaana Pehchana (2011)
Sachin and Ranjeeta are back on screen together again. Their performance in ANKHIYON KE JHAROKHON SE, Rajshri production’s 1978 hit, has prompted JAANA PEHCHANA. The production house may not say it, but this is a sequel to that movie. It probably has to be a sequel that has been pondered for the longest possible time ever-33 years!
Sachin is the director, lead actor, singer and screenplay co-writer all rolled into one. So I guess there was no scope for anyone else to do anything much. Even the idea, I guess could have been his. The first few minutes, even after a jarring opening scene, are indeed a joy to watch. But sadly, that joy is short-lived. The screenplay is shoddy, the plot, though interesting, never moves beyond a point and the end is amateurish.
‘Jaana Pehchana’ is an emotional, sensitive romantic story with a unique flavor, delving deep into the nuances of the relationship between the two protagonists. It is about a successful entrepreneur who has not yet come to terms with his past… Then a person enters his life and tries to heal his wounds…
