Ek Tha Tiger delivers what it promises – Entertainment – 3.5/5.0

By: Ketan Gupta

Ek Tha Tiger was one of the best Bollywood action movie made in the recent time with well-executed action scenes , snippy-snazzy stunts and of course it gives you one and the only SALMAN KHAN’s charisma. It is enthralling and gives you an entertainment potion right from the beginning till the end. Ek Tha Tiger tells the story of a RAW agent Tiger(Salman Khan) who has been given a secret assignment to observe a Trinity College scientist(Roshan Seth), suspected to have links with ISI agents and selling missile technology secrets to Pakistan. Tiger reaches Dublin and follows his activities with help of Professor’s care-taker, Zoya( Katrina Kaif). Doing his duty , Tiger falls in love with Zoya and is occupied in two states of mind that whether he will perform his duty or began a brand new life with Zoya. Directed by Kabir Khan ( Kabul Express , New-York), Ek Tha Tiger starts off very well with wonderfully executed opening action scene where Tiger fights the other spy agents followed by couple of scenes in London and Dublin.

Kabir Khan has done a good job by keeping the movie entertaining right from the beginning till the end. He is thought provocative and does not loose focus. Full marks should be given to the action director who has choreographed the action sequences with aplomb and looks are stylish and superbly-executed. The tram chasing scene , the fight scenes in Havana are just mind-blowing and give you an appetizer for more. However , the film do contains some loop holes like the story-telling which is weak on merits and could have been worked upon. Screenplay is decent with few loose ends. The ending of the film could have made little crispy rather than just showing simple one. However , all these demerits are compensated by stupendous performances by Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Salman delivers yet again with crispy humorous witty one- liners. Watch for him in the action scenes as well.He just surprises you in every sequence. Katrina did leaves an impact and is not sidelined considering that it is a Salman’s movie. She was fantastic in the fight scenes choreographed in Havana.Cinematography by Aseem Mishra is eye- catching capturing beautiful locales of Dublin , London and Istanbul.Music by Sohail Sen and Sajid-Wajid is good but not great. “Mashallah” and “Banjara” are the pick of the lots. Overall , Ek Tha Tiger delivers what it promises – Entertainment. This has style as well as substance. Salman’s super stardom and well-defined content will make it sustainable at the ticket window and has good legs to prolong its splendid run. Go for it. Definitely Watchable 3.5 /5
