Movie Review: Son Of Sardaar (2012)

Users Rating: [ratings] ★★★☆☆
Box Office: Hit

It is the story of Jassi (Ajay Devgn) a peace loving, happy-go-lucky Sardar from London who falls in love with Meet (Sonakshi Sinha) on his trip to India to sell of his ancestral land. Twist of fate and series of incidents take him to her house where he faces the most unexpected. He comes within an arm’s distance of his worst enemy ever- the heavy weight Billu Paji (Sanjay Dutt) who is the head of Meet’s family and is out to kill Jassi owing to a family feud which started three generations ago!

But to Jassi’s luck, Billu Paji and his family strictly adhere to Atithi Devo Bhavah! A guest at home is to be treated like God even if he is their worst enemy, outside the premise of the house- only God can help them!

A cat and mouse game begins, where Jassi tries to stay put by all means, while Billu Paji wants to fish him out. Confusion, drama, comedy and craze reach a crescendo with never seen before action sequences.

2.0 “Son of Sardaar gets mired by cliches and formulas. In a bid to make for a mass entertainer it ends up being banal and mundane. Those who appreciate over the top, loud and raucous gags may enjoy this one too.”
1.5 “Son of Sardaar deserves no form of absolution, no matter who or what your God is.”
