Sneek Peak: Himmatwala (2013)

Romancewala, Funwala, Actionwala — Ajay Devgn is Himmatwala! Catch the star in yet another entertaining film after Son Of Sardaar. Directed by Sajid Khan, the movie Himmatwala is the remake of the namesake 80s’ hit.

Sajid Khan is a serious entertainer, and he surely knows how to regale his audiences. However, for the first time he has delved into action for Himmatwala.

The trailer begins with a scene where Ajay Devgn is all set to fight fifty goons. His weapons are temple bells. The braveheart is not scared, and he yells — Maa Sherawali ka hath hai mujh par..chahe saikdon dushman aa jaayen zameen par..ek ek ko zinda gaad dega yeh himmatwala, yahin par. Bravo..bravo! Catcalls, wolf whistles!

The promo is laced with enough action, drama and fun to establish this ‘Himmatwala’ as the mass hero. The songs from the original film — Tathaiya Tathaiya and Taki O Taki — also play in between to imbue the promo with the 80s feel. Now, something about the actress: Tamannaah as the new Sridevi is superb. She is cute, bubbly and has expressive eyes of a dancer, and looks good opposite Ajay Devgn.

The trailer also has Mahesh Manjrekar and Paresh Rawal. While Mahesh Manjrekar is the main villain, Paresh Rawal plays his amusing brother-in-law, who has a unique hairstyle and moustache.

Overall, the trailer is entertaining, fun to watch, but equally loud and boisterous.

Himmatwala is co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Vashu Bhagnani, and will hit the theatres on March 29.
