Priyanka Chopra’s killer cabaret moves in Babli Badmaash

It was her “conscious” decision to not do any item song even after being in Bollywood for almost a decade. Now, as Priyanka Chopra has finally joined the bandwagon of item sirens with the song titled Babli Badmaash, is she as impressive as ‘Sheila’, ‘Munni’ or ‘Fevicol gal’?

In keeping with the retro theme of Shootout At Wadala, Priyanka Chopra’s item song is soused in elements that shriek 70s. The display of colourful lights is not only in the background, but also on Priyanka’s cut-out outfit, designed by Manish Malhotra. The dress can easily remind you of Amitabh Bachchan’s famous bulb outfit from the song Saara Zamana in the film Yaarana (1981), while Priyanka’s Sophia Loren-styled bob cut also helps her get into the retro groove.

There is no doubt about Pee Cee’s dancing skills, and her fans will get to see her doing killer cabaret moves in some portions of the song.

Priyanka also has two other looks in the song, which can be easily tagged contemporary. For one, she is sporting a figure-hugging sequined outfit, carrying off the look with her long luscious locks, and for the other look she’s back to her fringes and straight hair, wearing a long black leather dress with side-slit.

But in spite of great inputs, the outcome is not what was expected from the song. The treatment of the so-called item track, in the sassy vocals of Sunidhi Chauhan, doesn’t justify its cheesy name. Also, we feel the lyrics and music of the track lacks vim and vigour to lure the audiences.

The CBFC’s revising committee has already cleared the track with a ‘U/A’ certificate. So, you can see more of Priyanka Chopra’s sizzling gyrations on TV.

Here’s the track Babli Badmaash from Shootout At Wadala. Do tell us if it was worth Priyanka Chopra’s while to do this item?
