Bollywood divas shake a leg in tribute

Bombay Talkies, Bollywood’s tribute to Indian cinema’s centenary, is getting starrier by the day.

Close on the heels of reports that Aamir Khan has joined the cast of Bombay Talkies comes the revelation that five of Bollywood’s most accomplished actresses- Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra- will come together for a special number in the film.

The song has been composed by Amit Trivedi and all the five beauties have reportedly begun shooting their portions separately. Each of their sequences has been choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant.

That apart, Ranveer Singh and Anil Kapoor are also expected to feature in the song, though none of the seven stars in any of the four films that together comprise Bombay Talkies. With four 20-minute films directed by four of Bollywood’s brightest brains of the day- Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar- Bombay Talkies seeks to celebrate India’s love for cinema and Indians’ passion for the medium.

Another highlight of the film is Ranbir Kapoor, who has been brought on board to narrate each of the four stories.

The first-look trailer of the episodic film was released last week in Mumbai. The film is set for release on May 3 this year.
