Akshay injured while shooting action sequence for Hindi remake of Thuppakki

Actor Akhay Kumar who was shooting for the untitled Hindi remake of the Tamil film Thuppakki got injured Tuesday evening at around 5.30 pm.

He was rushed to Kokillaben Hospital in Andheri after the mishap. Director Murugadoss was filming action sequences with him. The shooting was taking place in Thakur Complex, Kandivli.

Producer Vipul Shah while confirming the accident said, “He is admitted to the hospital and has undergone some tests. He will be under observation for two to three days.” He refused to elaborate further on the nature of the injury of the star who is known for his dare devilry in the action department.

Akshay generally insists on doing his toughest action scenes all by himself and does not allow body doubles to them for him. So strong is his brand connect with action movies that the Khiladi was roped in to host the first season of Fear Factor on TV a few years ago.

Thuppakki remake also stars Sonakshi Sinha, who was not present on the set at the time of the accident. The film is directed by South director A. R. Murugadoss, who made his Bollywood debut with the Hindi
