Clicked: Shahrukh, Salman hug each other after five-year-old enemity

Surprising all the guests, Bollywood rivals Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan hugged each other at an Iftar party in Mumbay on Sunday.

The Iftar party was given by Congress MLA Baba Siddique.

The guests cheered as the two rivals hugged each other and shook hands, though a little awkwardly.

Shahrukh Khan was reportedly sitting at his table with other guests when Salman Khan entered. He greeted everyone on Shahrukh Khan’s table, but not him. And as Salman was about to walk away, he retraced his steps and patted Shahrukh on his shoulders.

Responding quickly, Shahrukh got up and embraced Salman as cheers erupted all around the place. In fact, the host Baba Siddique even managed to get them both pose together for a picture.

Veteran cricket journalist Ayaz Memon tweeted to say, “Saw Salman and Shah Rukh hug each other at Baba Siddique’s Iftar party…had everybody cheering”.

Later, Shahrukh was seen spending a good deal of time talking to Salman’s father Salim Khan and brother Sohail Khan.

Both the Khans have not spoken to each other since their tiff at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008.

The two Khans were once close buddies. In fact, Salman Khan treated Shahrukh and his wife Gauri like his own family and helped them settle down in Mumbai when they first came to Bollywood in the early 1990s.

But the two actors, who appeared together in Karan Arjun and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, over time became vengeful foes. Things became ugly between them when an angry Salman Khan disrupted the shooting of Shahrukh Khan’s film Chalte Chalte in 2002. Salman barged into the sets and physically manhandled his then girlfriend Aishwarya. This led to a spat between Shahrukh and Salman. They had another big fight at Katrina’s birthday in 2008. “SRK and I can never be friends,” Salman Khan said in an interview.

So have the two Khans kissed and made it up?
