Chennai Express enters Rs.200-cr club
The Rohit Shetty directorial has collected Rs.200.55 crore in India in just 2 weeks. The film is now second biggest grosser of all time leaving Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger behind that had earned Rs.Rs.198 crore at the domestic box office.
The film collected Rs.6.50 crore on Friday, Rs.8.51 crore on Saturday, Rs.10.22 crore on Sunday, Rs.3.80 crore on Monday, Rs.7.06 crore on Tuesday, Rs.4.51 crore on Wednesday and Rs.3.25 crore on Thursday.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:
The flick, which was made with a budget of Rs.75 crore, became the fastest Rs.200-crore earner in the history of Indian cinema.
The film has been shattering one record after another since its release on August 8, the eve of Eid. In its opening weekend itself, the movie broke five box office records.
