Funny but too much South overdose! – 2.5/5.0
Verdict – Cracks you up in parts & bores for the rest, better than the last one Mr.Shetty!
While I’m not a Rohit Shetty fan, I did quite enjoy Golmaal, Singham & Golmaal-3, but also detested crap like Golmaal-2 & Bol Bachchan. This time though, its Rohit Shetty + SRK + Deepika + Eid = mayhem at the box office & guys like Taran Adarsh going mad. Does it work as a film?
Part funy, part stupid with some great visuals, this one is tailor-made for the holiday.
Being a Rohit Shetty film, I shall respect him by not giving any value to story. Boy meets girl, falls in love, mad family, etc. Some fat south villians, a cool main boss, some stupid jokes, some hilarious ones & lots of songs in between.
At 2.5 hours, I genuinely felt cropping 25 minutes would make this a crisp funny entertainer. Visually, Shetty makes south india look colorfully awesome & happy as ever.
SRK thankfully plays his age & does well for most of it. He does ham for quite a bit & I wish to see him do more intense stuff on screen. But having said that, hes good.
Deepika is truly the life of the film & though the accent gets to you after a point, she is just so damn lovable.
What can one say about director Rohit Shetty. The man has built a brand for himself & time and again, proves to be critic-proof, thought-proof & the audiences baby.
I really feel writing this is pointless as all of you’ll will watch this, have already seen this or will read it, say haan this sucks & then go watch it. I only wish it was more crisp and had better songs. Nonethess, go with family, enjoy some popcorn & also shell out 400Rs a ticket, which to me is just plain RIDICULOUS. not worth that kind of money.
