Ranbir: Not playing Lord Shiva in Immortals of Meluha

Going by some earlier reports, we heard that actor Ranbir Kapoor has apparently been signed to play the deity role of Lord Shiva in Karan Johar’s next, which is an adaptation of the novel, Immortals of Meluha. In addition, the story further suggested that this yet-to-be titled venture will be directed by filmmaker Ayan Mukerji.

However, going by the recent buzz, seems like neither Ranbir Kapoor nor his director – friend Ayan, are a part of this project anymore.

Reportedly, Ranbir was caught up during one of his on-going promotional events for Besharam, where he seemed to be extremely irked by the stories published over his casting as Lord Shiva in Karan Johar’s next.

Having rubbished the rumors, he said, “I read that Ayan and me are doing Karan’s film on Immortals Of Meluha but we are definitely not doing that film. We are working on our upcoming super-hero flick and Ayan is still writing the film. I am not in a position to say anything about it so soon.”

Well, if not Ranbir Kapoor, then who else do we expect to fit in the majestic role of Lord Shiva? Any guesses?
