I’ve been saving my brand virginity for the right one: Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh, who’s on a high after the much acclaimed ‘Lootera’, the hundred-crore blockbuster ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’ and masala entertainer ‘Gunday’, starts his brand endorsement journey with Durex, a condom brand.

With this uber cool move, the hunky actor joins a very exclusive bunch of A-list mainstream celebrities worldwide like Ke$ha, Prince, U2, 50 Cent and Daft Punk to endorse condoms. Needless to say, this ‘ballsy’ activity has been worth a huge loot for the young star.

Ranveer points out that as an actor and as an individual, he has “a propensity for pushing the envelope, breaking the mould and taking the road less travelled.” He explains, “I constantly endeavour to build an equity that is unique – one that truly stands out from the crowd. Over the past three-and-a-half years that I’ve been a part of the Hindi film industry, I’ve declined several tempting endorsement offers. I’ve been saving my brand virginity for the right one. And now, finally, I’m popping my cherry with the world’s leading brand in sexual well-being – Durex!”

He adds that sex is still considered a taboo in our country and the idea behind his association with the condom brand is to create awareness around sexual wellbeing, promote safe sex and have fun while doing it! “After intensive brainstorming, my partners at the brand and I have jointly devised a kickass creative campaign, but it’ll be a while before it releases. It will surely hit the spot, but it won’t be coming soon!” he sums up, all puns intentional.
