Clicked: Bombay Velvet wrap-up party
The makers of Bombay Velvet didn’t just surprise the cast and crew with a cake on Tuesday, the last day of shoot at Mumbai’s CCI. They also had the right icing — the new date of release, November 28, written on top of it.
Bombay Velvet, starring Ranbir Kapoor, and P.K., starring Aamir Khan, are among the two most awaited films this year and both were earlier slated for a Christmas release. The possible box-office clash had the trade worried, but now, both films have got a clear release window. Said Ranbir, “It is the best way to take Bombay Velvet to more audiences. It’s a film made with a lot of love.”
Added Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, “This is a big-canvas film with some incredible performances and it demands a special release, so we are bringing it worldwide on the Thanksgiving weekend.”
Said director Anurag Kashyap, “With such good actors and a hard-working crew, it’s been an exciting 10 months on the set. I feel supercharged entering the next stage of the film.” Anushka Sharma, who is shooting in Rajasthan, was thoroughly missed. Added Vikas Bahl of Phantom Films, “We are happy to finish the shoot the way Anurag envisioned it.”
