Making Of: Kochadaiiyaan (2014)
Kochadaiiyaan is an upcoming 2014 Indian Tamil motion capture 3D computer-animated period film directed by Soundarya R. Ashwin and written by K. S. Ravikumar. The film will feature Rajinikanth enacting and voicing three lead roles, whilst R. Sarathkumar, Aadhi, Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Jackie Shroff, and Nassar enact and voice supporting characters. The film has cinematography handled by Rajiv Menon whilst background score and soundtrack is composed by A. R. Rahman.
After a long break, Rajinikanth will once again lend his voice for a Hindi film — this time around, for the dubbed version of ‘Kochadaiiyaan — The Legend’. The Southern superstar has not been dubbing in Hindi for some time now.
In ‘Sivaji’ (2007) and ‘Robot’ (2010), it was one Mayur Vyas who lent his voice for the actor. So, his sudden change of heart has surprised many in the industry. Says South filmmaker AR Murugadoss, “His voice is enough to drive us crazy.”
Director Soundarya Ashwin Rajnikanth confirms the news, saying, “The Hindi version is dubbed by Thalaivar himself… the countdown has begun.” Touted to be made along the lines of Hollywood hits like Avatar, The Adventures Of Tin Tin and Beowulf, the film has Deepika Padukone playing the female lead.
