Reason Behind The Title ‘Bombay Velvet’
Anurag Kashyap’s period drama Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar is set in the 1960’s. While, it is one of the biggest releases this year and there is great anticipation for the film, not many are aware about the reason behind the title of the film.
The name Bombay Velvet comes from the name of the nightclub ‘Bombay Velvet’ in the film. Ranbir Kappor is the manager of Bombay Velvet and Anushka Sharma is a jazz singer there. The film revolves around the nightclub, where a lot of important events take place. Anurag Kashyap has recreated Bombay of the 60’s and has made sure that everything is in sync with that era.
