Alia Opens Up the reason Why KJO denied her to do Kapoor & Sons

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt made her debut with Dharma Production, Karan Johar’s film ‘Student Of The Year’. As we all know that Karan Johar shares a very close bond with Alia. Alia Bhatt at various occasions, acknowledged Karan Johar’s importance in her life, having addressed him as ‘Papa’ at award shows. Alia calls Karan whenever she is in the problem, personally and professionally.

In an interview to Filmfare, Alia said, “My mood at that time, the script and the director help me decide on a film.” Ever since her debut film, most of her films have been with Karan Johar’s production house. Although Alia can never say no to Karan the actress reveals that if a film isn’t clicking, she’d rather not do it.”

Talking about Karan, Alia said, “Karan asked me not to do Kapoor & Sons. I said, ‘No! I want to do it’. He said, ‘You don’t have enough part in it’. Karan will offer you a film and then he’ll also ask you not to do it in a protective way. Later, he said, ‘I’m sorry, I was wrong, you were right in doing it’.” Kapoor & Sons (2016), directed by Shakun Batra, was a romantic drama film starring Rishi Kapoor, Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhotra. Kapoor & Sons were critically and commercially appreciated by the audiences and won several awards at award shows.

Well, we are happy that the actress decided to do the film as we loved her in it!

On the work front, Alia is going to be seen alongside Ranveer Singh in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy and with Ranbir Kapoor in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. She is also a part of KJo’s production venture and Kalank and the recently announced directorial Takht. But for us, the most awaited film of Alia is going to be the sequel to the 1991-film Sadak. Yes, soon Alia Bhatt will begin the shooting of Sadak 2.

On the other hand, apart from his B-town projects, Karan is going to be back on the small screens with Koffee With Karan Season 6.
